Bio.

Its impossible to quantify my life into a few paragraphs to validate my art in order to sell it. Instead, I can only offer a glimpse past the surface and hope you can relate in your own way.

I like to say that I was born with a pen in my hand but there were many times that I considered my talents a blessing and a curse. My childhood and young adult life were not easy. Finding my “Self” was not without its set backs from trying to survive. The theme was loss and death and I grew accustomed to solitude. My strong imagination was developed out of necessity and fueled my desire to draw . My grandmother Marion fed my interest in art and nature. She was a skilled folk artist who I spent my summers with camping in the Poconos. If it were not for my grandparents, I would be a shadow. The complexity of my youth has correlation to my affinity for horror and the macabre. It’s more of a challenge to see beauty obscured by the dark.

I very much enjoyed anything creative to include but not limited to classic comics (Gary Larson, Jim Davis, Bill Waterson), anything Jim Henson and Richard Williams who illustrated one of my favorite movies “Who Framed Roger Rabbit”.

Although “they” may present themselves in one form or another, I tend to avoid placing my ideals or struggles and strife’s on a pedestal, due to oversaturation of this in the industry and everywhere else. Creative energy is a force of nature that flows through us and as a conductor feel that my art should speak for itself. The subject matter is mostly influenced by my emotions and interests. I gravitate towards nature, humor an horror and try not to use pop culture, famous people, sex or pretty faces as a crutch.  I believe there are separations of craft, trade and fine art. I dabble in all but have a strong understanding of the lines. I feel that the creation of true art involves a mix of skill, time and a broad range of depth.

My hope is that my work will promote connection to our world and each other.

How did I get here?

As a young adult I continually sought new opportunities for utilizing my talents which led to working in unique arenas such as large scale entertainment productions and business events. This enabled me to develop diverse skillsets. Over ten years I have designed for breweries, orchards, media stations, musicians, tattoo artists, salons, councils/ commissions, dispensaries, restaurants and private clients.

What am I up to?

I am happy to work with clients in all arenas and am open to hearing about new opportunities in custom design or event services.
